After a large fire in the production process, Hastings Demolition was engaged in late 2022 to undertake the mammoth job that was demolishing the structure around their major plant room.

With crews working from crane baskets, scissor lifts and ‘z-booms’ our team worked long hours and weekends to strip the cladding, roofing, and timber structure, which allowed for investigators to get in and assess the damage. The structure was deemed too unsafe to enter, so our team had to work from the outside, in, to make the building safe enough to get assessments done.

Working against the elements and the toxic fire damaged material, our team were required to wear full protective coveralls and p2/p3 filtered masks, but managed to achieve the demolition works ahead of schedule allowing for further clean up works to be undertaken.
